From the moment we first spoke with Shelby, we, Katherine and Justin of Lace + Honey Weddings, knew they were our couple, and they felt an immediate connection with us as their photography and videography team! There was a spark in our conversation that foretold a wonderful partnership and a wedding day filled with unique moments to capture.

Set in the historic and picturesque Abney Hall in Greenwood, South Carolina, the stage was perfectly set for a wedding brimming with Southern charm and elegance. However, Mother Nature had other plans, gracing us with a monsoon of rain. But, Shelby and their partner embodied the spirit of joy and resilience; they embraced the rain, stepped in puddles, and were soaking wet, yet their happiness shone brighter than the sun hiding behind the clouds.

One of the highlights of the day was the couple’s dog, playing the role of the ring bearer. At Lace + Honey, we always have a soft spot for pets being part of the wedding celebration; it adds a personal and sweet touch that’s simply irreplaceable.

Despite the downpour, the vibrant blooms from Gregg Foster Designs brought a burst of color and warmth to the venue, proving that a little rain couldn’t dampen the beauty of love and commitment.

The impeccable organization and seamless flow of the day were thanks to the talented team at Sprague Events, ensuring that not even unpredictable weather could disrupt the joyous occasion. The beautiful ambiance and comfort for all the guests were enhanced by the high-quality rentals from Charleston Restroom Trailers and Professional Party Rentals.

As the evening unfolded, the guests were treated to a symphony of flavors by Time to Taste Catering, and the delicious cake from Brick Street Cakes was a sweet testament to the love shared by the newlyweds. The beauty team at Cotton Rouge and Company ensured that, rain or shine, the bridal party looked stunning.

Setting the mood and getting everyone on the dance floor was the fantastic Sound Choice DJ Entertainment, while Twist Bartending kept the spirits high and the toasts flowing.

Capturing every raindrop, smile, dance, and loving glance, we felt honored to be part of this unforgettable day, chronicling the love story of a couple who embraced the unexpected with grace and laughter.
